We have a late alter female that has what we term as a "leaky valve"!
She is around 5 years old and came out of a terrible breeding situation.
She would have nightmares for the first year we had her. She would poof
during these, causing the entire ferret room smell of her. Now she just
poofs whenever.....whenever you pick her up, whenever she stretches,
whenever she is held and rubbed, whenever she gets totally
relaxed....you get the picture. The vet commented he could descent her
if it caused problems but we don't mind it. Our only concern was if this
happened due to a physical problem. She is healthy and happy, just "poofy"!
