Subject: [ferrethealth] ferret crash
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

This am my insulinomic ferret work me up with a very loud noise, like
snoring or snorting ... I did not think to much about it , at first..
I prepared his food he gets a warm duck soup.. I went to get him out
of his cage and I realize his back end just hanging.. I am not sure
if he can move his bottom half.. everytime I touch him he gets very
jittery , nervous.. he seems okay holding his head up.. I tried to
feed him from a spoon he is hungry but just took a few licks from the
spoon laid his head back down... I did give him some karo syrup see
if that would help.. He is on my bed but have a dazed look , like he
is staring into space...
There is some labored breathing , but not the whole time.. at times
he seems relaxed..

He is also adrenal ... My vet does not open until 9:00 and it is now
7:00 .. I called a couple of 24 hr emergency clinics but no one that
has knowledge about ferrets... would be a waste of time for my Taz
and me if they don't know anything about them...

I am going to wait for my own vet and will be waiting when the doors
open up... Hopefully he can hang on.. He does not seem to be in pain
or alot of distress.. just being very still....

can anyone give me some advice ..

Thanks,
Breanna
