If my memory is working, the effective timeframe
for Prednisolone and Prednisone is something like
9 hours, so splitting the meds to 3 doses rather
than 2 each day may have benefit, but splitting to
4 may have no more effect than the 3 way split.
Of course, ALWAYS clear med changes with the
treating vet beforehand and make sure that the
vet knows and changes being made, and knows
all supplements and other types of meds used.
