Subject: [ferrethealth] Feeding feline EN to ferrets
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I am just curious if anyone has considered feeding veterinary
prescribed feline EN as a bland diet choice during a bought of
diarrhea. I ask because I know AD is often recommended (or baby food)
as an easily digested protein source. AD doesn't have nearly the fat or
protein content as EN. Also, it contains a lot of pork based protein,
while EN is poultry and fish. I was considering using EN as a treat for
my potential IBD ferret. Other treats seem to upset her stomach too
much. She is on a diet of feline z/d mixed with natural choice venison
and green pea right now, which seems to help clear up her bird seed
stool a bit. I would like to be able to have a treat for her now and
then, besides tricking her with her kibble! I can't seem to get her to
eat baby food...but I have not given up yet, as I know this will be
important for the future. Thanks, Amanda
