Subject: [ferrethealth] "Cure" for IBS?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My little Kylie has suffered with IBS every since having a severe
distemper reaction, then within a matter of months later a horrible
bout of ECE. Every since then I have searched high and low for
anything - any medication, any food, any herbal or over the counter
and prescription medication....... and all with no results. She was
even on pred for some time, but with no results.

About a month ago I decided I would *try* the "Marshall's Uncle Jim's
Duk Soup Mix". It contains ONLY chicken, liver, cod, and herbs and
ingredients that are simply friendly to the tummy - NO fillers, which
of course caught my attention with the current wheat gluten scare
going on. I prepared according to the instructions; microwaved for
20 seconds, then allowed to cool. Re-warmed (to allow extra time to
rehydrate), thinned a bit with water, and served. She loved it!

The very best part? That day was the last day that Kylie had
diarrhea. After nearly three years of diarrhea and having tried
many of the ingredients in the stuff at one time or another (but
never all at once), the diarrhea was finally gone.

Kylie has been on "Uncle Jim's" for about a month now, fortunately
bypassing the Hill's Prescription Diet wheat gluten scare (she HAD
been eating warm, watered down Hill's I/D). It's expensive, yes, but
well-formed, nicely colored poops are worth it for twice the price.
(Yes, I'm a long-term poop expert out of necessity!) The jar says to
use it for just several days at a time until the ferret feels better,
but my vet looked over the ingredients and said there is just nothing
there that should cause harm by using it all the time; so Kylie has
been getting as much as she can eat four times a day.

"Thanks Uncle Jim!"
