Honestly, with it increasing get the ferret checked for possible adrenal disease.

Steve and I have one ferret who is prone to fur loss from allergic dermatitis to multiple
things, and who sometimes gets secondary bacterial dermatitis (so skin biopsies get done
when that also happens). Because the safety of a ferret is endangered by untreated adrenal
disease we have had him tested and then treated with Lupron each and every time he has
balded in areas on each side. In fact, we are currently waiting to hear back about his latest
TN Panel. Yes, it costs, but he needs it to be safest and that is the bottom line. (He's an
ideal one to draw blood from and he really doesn't care as long as he gets an oil treat at the
same time, so that makes it easier, at least.)

BTW, parasites and fungal infections also need to be considered and are yet more reasons for
you to set a vet appointment with your ferret vet.
