Missing hair from the tail...the bane of all ferret owners! If you can rule out adrenal disease (maybe you need to have the panel test done?) perhaps there is some sort of dermatitis that is present or some other agent irritating the skin in that location. My wife and I had some luck using a mild, shampoo to clean the tail. Some hair grew back but not as much or as thick as before. I've also been advised by other owners that using clearasil may be helpful if you notice blackheads on the tail. Hope that is helpful.
