Our three get soup once a week, consisting of ground up kibble, Uncle Jim's, and smaller amounts of Ferretone, acidophilus, Ferretvite, and slippery elm bark powder. I give it to them once a week for two reasons:
1) To vary their nutritional intake and to help promote continued good GI health (that's what the acidophilus and slippery elm are for). We got all three of them from a shelter nearly two months ago, and they have all gained weight and muscle tone since then, and their poops have also gotten much more consistent and healthy looking .
2) In case they get sick down the road and NEED to eat soup, they are used to it and will accept it readily.
