To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We had an outbreak of ringworm in our ferrets around 2 years ago. Our
home and another of our shelter's foster homes were the only 2 involved.
We still have no clue where it all started but it took us FOREVER to get
it cleared up here. Lots of time, clorox and baths for the ferrets with
a prescription anti-fungal shampoo. The other home still has problems
due to one ferret. It has a supposed immune system and they haven't been
able to get it completely cured. So, once in awhile she has a different
one "catch" it. Our vet commented this was the first time he had seen
ferrets with ringworm in around 12 years. He did do a skin scraping to
diagnose us to begin with.
