Subject: [ferrethealth] need help with diagnosis
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have 4 four ferrets. I noticed about 10-12 wks ago that one of them
had green slimy almost water poop one day. Kept watching to see who had
done it and it did not happen again til 3 wks later. I then figured out
that it was my little 6 yr. old girl. I kept an eye on her for a
couple of days and did not see it again. So I did not make a vet appt.
Then I acquired a friends very well taken care of ferret. We had him
for 2 weeks then I noticed that he did that same exact kind of poop.
My little girl has not done it since. So then I started keeping an eye
on him. To this day he has not done it yet. Well now I noticed that
one of my other ferrets did the same poop. Does anyone have any idea
about what is going on? Does this sound like the green poop disease?
Do they only poop like that on occasion or all of the time?? I basicly
fired my previous vet that I was very trusting and dependant on. I have
not gone through the vets around here yet to determine who is of any
knowledge. And basicly at this point I find it difficult to put my
trust in a new vet. It really seems that there are more knowledgable
people in this group than a lot of the so called ferret/pocket pet
vets. Can anyone help out with some answers if I need to be concerned
or not..... Thank you, Anita
