Have you thought about surgery to reduce the number of tumors - might reduce the amt of steriod he has to take. 0.25cc's - 3X's a day is very high so I'm thinking lots of tumor or advanced disease. If he's too old to have good chances of surviving a surgery then it maybe best to treat according to vet recs and love him until he makes the journey.

Is he getting any kibble now? I would drop all kibble and feed a varied natural diet, whether you go raw or cook for him is up to you, but put him on meat, bones (raw here), and offal (innards)... vary the meat... look around locally to see if there are people who raise, quail and rabbit for marketing. Call a local butcher and see if he can grind packages for you of meat, bone and liver, heart, kidneys. It may well be worth a try.

Any suggestion on how to help ferret loose some weight.. my Taz is on
predison 3 times a day... every 8 hours dosage .25 each dosage.. He
has a healthy appettie..

He is tipping scales at 4 lbs now... Vet is trying to figure out a
diet plan for him...

I feed him a high protein puree diet... I have cut back how many
feedings and also the portion... but he is on predisone and it makes
him swell.. vet has told me there is nothing he can give taz to help
with the swelling or the weight gain..

He said if his glucose level was higher .. last one a few weeks ago
was 45.. He gets tested again on tuesday.. vet want to cut his meds
back, but when he does , my taz sleeps alot ... low energy and very
lethargic..I don't know what to do...

There is a new kibble at petsmart that is high protein , low cal.. I
was thinking of trying that as my kibble that I puree for him ,
instead of what I am using now.. Does anyone know about this new
ferret food called Nature's gold...?

I need to get his weight down.. He is insolumic and adrenal and is
terminal... but doing very well.. Excess weight is the issue right
now....

Thanks,
Breanna
