Subject: [ferrethealth] abbreviations
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi All,
Is there a list that people can go to that will explain the abbreviations to us people that don't know all of them. There have been a couple in the last few days that I don't know what they are and I'm sure I'm not the only one. One being CHF and the other GnRH implant. It would be a help to those of us that are trying to understand some of the things our babies get and also explaining them (or referring to them) to our vets.
Thanks.

and open the file of ferret medical acronyms
Here are veterinary acronyms:

Here are human medical acronyms, many of which also apply to ferrets:

BTW (by the way), it does help peopleif individuals explain their abbreviations. One place they have often caused trouble has been when people have used AD (which correctly stands for Aleutian Disease) to instead mean Adrenal Disease which is actually AAE (Adrenal Associated Endocrinopathy). ]
