To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Have a CBC and a Chemistry Panel been done recently on this ferret? The first thing that
comes to my mind is that this individual might be having something cause pancreatic
inflammation or that there might be another type of pancreatic based growth such as
lymphoma or carcinoma. Those blood tests could at least give a feeling if something
major had begun if it is far enough along.

It sounds like all of this is brand new rather than this being a ferret who has been on long
term pred use for insulinoma or another problem. If this is a ferret who has been on long
term pred use them see

Of course, your vet's monitor may be having function problems. That would be a
wonderful and simple solution, and it doesn't hurt to check.
