Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Update on Probable Adrenal. :-(
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

"Legolas" had his ultrasound and looks like his right adrenal is
slightly enlarged - prostate looked good though as for
stones/blocks/etc..but it is still swollen from adrenal pressure. He
is on prostate (flutimide), steroids (dextra???), and infection
(clavomox) meds now - plus had a shot of Lupron. He is doing OK (other
than lack of energy and a bit less pee flow but that is better with
above meds). So my problem now is that my vet has never done right
adrenal removal. She has 20 yr ferret exp and has done many lefts and
has done some cryosurgery (but she has not been happy with those
freezing results). She is consulting with others now but I'd like to
find someone with lots of right side exp. as I want only the best for
my boy. I live near Allentown, PA and my vet is only really
experienced one around. I am checking into the vet school @ the
University of Philly and also a vet in Bethesda, MD.

So for now it's wait and see.

Thank you again.

P.S. - the below mentioned low blood glucose may have been in error.
The vet thinks problem @ lab on that result (which makes me suspect
all the results). She checked him in-house twice now and reading
(while not as accurate as a lab) both were OK.
