Have you tried offering her a meaty bone? AN actual raw chicken wing
or leg? Sounds like she really has a need to chew and gnaw in the
normal fashion that ferrets do.

I'm rather surprised that your vet shrugged this off as "something
some ferrets just do" -

There is something bothering your ferret somehow. Chewing on cloth is
NOT what I would consider normal behavior at all. I can understand a
ferret chewing on a bone, or even a ferret chewy (if you don't offer
them bones), but they definitely know there is no food value in cloth.

She may be in some kind of pain and this cloth chewing is from
frustration.

I'd keep investigating and offer her a meaty bone as an alternative
chewing object.
