Furosemide (Lasix) is one med with a long and
successful diuretic history in ferrets.
Now, I can't recall your details, but I will tell you what I would tell anyone who has a ferret
with ascites: You NEED to have a heart ultrasound to find out if there is heart disease and
the specifics, as well as otherwise testing for less common causes if there is not heart
disease. There are wonderful meds for heart disease which help ferrets greatly but the
specifics need to be known from the right tests.
