Subject: [ferrethealth] Sores in the Mouth
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

A friend of mine brought over his female ferret last night because of
the sores in her mouth and he wasn't sure what to do. (Why do our
ferrets like to do this on the weekends?)

There were sores lining the insides of her upper lip. She had lost
weight and wasn't eating well.

We got her going on Carafate, Amoxi and baby food. Is there anything
else we could do for her? She is about 7 yrs old. She also has a
melatonin implant for adrenal disease.

Thanks for any help. I did check the archives, but noticed most mouth
ulcers were refered to on the roof of the mouth. She doesn't have any
on the roof of her mouth, only on the inside of the upper lips. With
some swelling on one side.
