Subject: [ferrethealth] Possible blockage
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,
my Lily, who's about 4 yrs. old and usually very healthy, has been
having very small poops lately. We assumed it's probably a partial
intestinal obstruction. She doesn't have a fever, still eating and
drinking normally, the only thing is she's sleeping a little more
than usual and her poops are thin and small.

We've been giving her Marshall brand FerretLax twice a day for 2
days, following the instructions on the tube, so far no great
results. I know that if this continues for a few more days, or if
the stool stops passing completely, or she's runs and fever and
everything, then she will need professional help. A few years ago
one of my boys had a total bowel obstruction from a foreign body and
had to have it surgically removed.

Right now I'm asking to see if there's anything else we can give her
to help pass the blockage naturally.

Any suggestions welcome,
we're going to try adding some canned pumpkin to her "soup" again.
Thank you,
~Emily & the kids.
