Whole mice, rats, chicks, chickens, rabbit, quail, beef, lamb,... if he won't eat meat start him with a smoothie.. cook your meat until very tender, the put meat in a grinder, food processor, or blender with a lot of broth and fat from cooking process and process until smooth... hold your ferret and offer by spoonfulls, or to lick off of your finger.
Once he is eating the smoothie you can progress to letting him lick it up while on the floor, rather than in your arms, then add coarsely ground or coarsely chopped meat to the soup.. just a few pieces at first for him to learn to eat, then progress to bigger and bigger pieces until he'll take the meat with out the soup.. although the soup is good to give as a treat in case he gets sick or injured and goes off his feed.
There are sited online where you can order pinkies, rat-cicles, raw meat and bones... to feed naturally. My ferrets that eat meat are big, well defined muscles and very healthy...
I hope that helped.
