X from the X has newborns (since last night) and the mother is

**In my experience with breeding dogs and ferrets (and cats when I was
younger) - a mother animal that is mothering the majority of a litter but ignoring
one of the babies is aware of something wrong with that baby. When I have done
necropsies on these babies, there is almost always something wrong
internally. If a mom just doesn't know what they are doing due to inexperience, they
will be ignoring all of the babies equally - that is a very different thing from
one being ignored and the rest cared for.

Sad, often heartbreaking, but that's part of breeding.**
