Subject: [ferrethealth] New Member Introduction and Questions
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi,
I am new to this group. I was searching for someone
to help me with information on my ferrets.
I recently inherited two beautiful ferret girls.
My son who is an adult and lives on his own, wanted
ferrets so badly. But, when he finally got these two,
he soon found he had no time to give them. So, of
course, I ended up with the two little rascals.
I have always loved animals and have a houseful
already: Dogs, cats, birds, turtles and now ferrets.
I try my best to read up on each animal and try to
provide what is needed for their health and happiness.
I would really appreciate any help and information on
what is necessary for their health, i.e., vitamins,
etc.
Also, what nutritional needs are necessary.
So far, I have gotten them a larger three story cage
and I have an open hammock and a cozy "hiding"
hammock. I give them ferret food and some treats and
they always have fresh water. My son left me some
shampoo, nail clippers, collars, and ear cleaner for
them.
The cats don't bother them, because we never let them
out while the cats are out, and the dogs are never
around them.
I don't know what their sleeping needs should be and
just how to make them happy. They seem happy and
alert, but, I want to make sure they are happy and
healthy.
Please understand that I have never owned ferrets, nor
has anyone I have ever known owned ferrets. So, any
and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Rose
