In ferrets with heart disease, they also show signs of overall weakness. Also, if a ferret has a tummy infection and can't eat, that might exacerbate any underlying insulinoma since their blood sugar is going to be very low anyway. If a ferret is sleeping in his poo, that's definitely not good... I'm hoping you've gone to the vet by this time. The sickest ferrets I've had, even in the veterinary ICU, always wanted to poo somewhere else, and would allow me to help them into a corner if they were too weak. It definitely lowers their spirits to not be able to keep their bedding separate from their litter corners. Until your weasel is strong enough, please try to help him by holding his belly or supporting his legs while he uses a corner.

Just my layperson's opinion of course -- not a vet!
