See

then add on the vet appointment cost, tech time, vet exam time, etc.

It doesn't do much good when people compare prices prices for
such things because
1. some buy Lupron Depot in quantity and prepare it themselves
which *greatly* cuts costs.
2. some have techs give it and some have vets give it, while some
use a team -- partly depending on the critter and if the people
who have the critter provide some of the labor.
3. there may be other costs planned in such as if the the vet
expects two professionals to be working on the ferret, or wants to
give a bit of Iso fist for a very squirmy one, or if the vet uses a
skin anesthetic gel and lets it sit long enough to work well
4. general operating costs vary a LOT regionally which makes
sense when you think about it. For example, compare just land
costs where we live to where my in-laws live and the costs are over
5 times higher here. Our property taxes are over 10 times higher.
Labor is more expensive here, and so are state taxes for employees.
Costs like those fold into everything, especially needed service costs:
cleaners, plumbers, etc.
5. some vets work in unexpected emergency costs (like treating
animals who go into anaphylactic shock for vaccines) into the basic
cost of all appointments whereas others charge specifically for those
when they occur.

That post I gave the URL for will give you the current cost of a vet's
own cost (before shipping?) for getting just one dose of the 4 month
Lupron. If you are short on funds tell the vet that and ask for a
breakdown to see what can be skipped or altered.
