Subject: [ferrethealth] Yet another poo question...
Greetings ferret fanatics!
I know everyone has seen runny poo, but one of mine can't seem to lose
it. I took Murray McFerret to the vet last week with soupy, runny
poo. He tested it and said he found protozoan cysts. He prescribed 5
days of Flagyl, 1cc (that's a joy to administer!) After 3 days his poo
wasn't firming up so the vet said to add .3cc of Pepto. He actually
looked pretty good after the 5th day. Now all the Flagyl is gone, and
the runs are back. His poo is very soft, like a Wendy's frosty. No
green color. Murray is eating, drinking and dooking like any normal
ferret. He doesn't seem to be dehydrated. I have continued to give
him Pepto 2-3X a day. He eats Zupreem, Gerber chicken baby food and an
occasional N-Bone. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
