Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret licking hot spot
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Any ideas on how to keep a ferret from licking a hot spot on his hind
leg? We're putting neosporin on it twice a day and I know that some
ferrets actually like the taste of it. But it's like it's itchy and he
has to scratch. I don't want him making it worse, and I don't want him
eating the neosporin. I thought about bitter apple, but wouldn't that
make the itching and pain worse? Or would it work if I put the
neosporin on first acting like a barrier between the hot spot and the
bitter apple?

Thanks
Ann

And for those of you who helped with Rainbow and her hind leg
weakness, we had to put her to sleep early morning Friday. She got so
bad that she couldn't eat or even move and she had a seizure. Thanks
for all your help though, we miss her dearly.
