Subject: [ferrethealth] Chordoma?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I've had many, many ferrets but never a chordoma, so I'm not sure what to look for, but
the other day I was snuggling Whiskey and I noticed a small bump on the end of his tail.
It's solid enough that it feels like maybe the piece of bone at the very end became
detached at some point, and got skewed and healed that way. He doesn't seem to be in
any discomfort at all, even when I touch it. I'd always heard that chordoma is extemely
painful, which is why I even have any doubts. He's a rescue, and had been chacked over by
a vet when I got him. So I'm not sure whether the bump was there and she missed it, or it
has come up recently. I can get him to a nonferret vet Monday, or to a real ferret vet
Thursday. (OR a vet now, if there's an emergency, or course.) In the mean time, does
anyone have any ideas?
