Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Poop Problems ~ Long ~ PICS

I have read the info on ECE and he doesnt fit the decription at all of
ECE .Other than the episode of the green poop .......which only
happened for a very short while after the switch and then went
away .....his poops were never green. I understand that this could
occur when the intestines are inflamed and/or upset. The green poop was
also firm and not diarrhea.

Ok, so After a day of turkey baby food with normal poops .....I gave
him some of the Ferret Store Natural dry last night . His poops this
morning were MUCH more than when he was eating the baby food ...not
golden puffy poop like before, but not as normal looking as they should
be I dont think as they are a bit soft , but not "mush" like
previously, so definitely an improvement from when he was eating the 3
dry's in my mix.

My questions ...and if there any ferret vets out there .... do you
think a stool culture is in order ? could he have a chicken allergy ?
If he does have this , are there any holistic or really good foods that
dont have chicken for ferrets ?? Does this sound like IBD ? or could he
have a bacteria that needs to be treated with another type of
antibiotic ? Thanks
