I think the last time I got Lupron shots for any of my guys (the 4 month
depot) my vet charged me $48.00 per shot.
Now, to be fair, my vet buys the supplies in bulk and mixes it himself.
He divides the charge for the supplies up between the number of doses he
can get from it. It is apparently not that hard to do, but because the
Lupron has a short self life once it is mixed, even if frozen, it is
only economical for vets to do it if they regularly treat a number of
ferrets. My vet has 5 vets in the practice, and 3 of them are ferret
specialists. I would estimate that least 20% of the practice is ferrets.
A vet that only sees a few ferrets may not be able to economically do this.
