Roxanne,

Unfortunately many of your photo links got truncated and were
unviewable. But I did get to see a couple. I would definitely bag the
scats and take them to a vet or a lab for analysis. I'd also get another
vet to check him out.

That is definitely a bright green!

I notice you use pellets for litter - have you ever dissolved these
pellets in water to see if there are any dyes that leach out? Dante may
be ingesting some of these pellets.

There may also be dyes in the kibble mixture you are feeding. Try
soaking the kibbles in water ( seperately so you can possibly find the
culprit) to see if any dyes leach out. This will also help you pinpoint
the grainy/seedy ones.

As to the gassiness this is classic result of carbohydrate digestion.
Ever take a walk through a dairy farm? Ferrets really are not designed
to digest carbohydrates and plant fibres. I am a proponent of natural
whole prey diets for ferrets. You may want to research this for your
ferrets. Check out another yahoo groups Natural_Ferrets for info.

When I first got Josie as an extremely young kit ( less than 6 weeks
old) she was being fed Marshal's kibble. I treated her once with a
turkey kitty treat and woosh out came light yellow bird seedy scat!

I have since switched her to an all natural meaty bone and whole prey
diet and this has made a world of difference for her!

While her scats do change colors according to whatever she ate, I have
never seen such a bright green as was in your pix. If I did I'd
certainly be worried too!

Once she chewed into a blue ice gel freezer pack and besides having a
blue nose and paws her next couple scats had a decided blue tinge to
it!

When she eats crickets and superworms the scat is a light tan but
crumbly.

Liver makes a dark almost black gooey scat.

Chicken gizzards and hearts makes tan pasty scat.

Cornish game hen and chicken wings makes light tan to brown solid scats.

Mouse morsels create the most "normal" looking scats that are a golden
tan to light brown and you can easily see the rawhide. See the pic I
posted in Josie's album here.

Regards, JosiesMom
