Kelsey,
I have five that I bought between seven weeks old and as old as four
and a half months old and they are presently five yrs, four yrs and
ten months, four yrs and five months, four yrs and three months and
two weeks short of two yrs and none are sick. The one I adopted
that is three yrs and two months was under suspiciation of having
adrenal problems possibly last August but only turned for the worse,
weight and hair on tail and hind quarters this past month so he
needs to be seen real soon. I know 75-80% of ferrets get the
adrenal problems but usually at four or five yrs old so the question
is if you can handle their illnesses personnally and financially. I
am having a hard time with both issues however will do anything for
them because of the happiness and laughs they provide. Just because
the only adopted one is "sick" and the second youngest would not
stop me from adopted another if the previous owner would let it just
run loose and not find it a proper home as in this case. Go ahead
and just don't take on as many as I have. They are great!
