Subject: [ferrethealth] weakness, difficulty walking..

Hello, me and my husband have a 5/6 year old ferret. Recently we have
noticed that she is losing weight, we can feel her ribs and backbone.
She also sleeps more than usual and when she does get out of bed she
falls over several times, sometimes its her front legs that can't walk
and others its her back legs. She just scoots across the floor most of
the time on her side until we pick her up and put her back in her bed.
She still wants to eat and drink and poops/pees just fine.
She isn't really losing hair, but its thinning. Our hearts are just
breaking for her. We plan on taking her to the vet tomorrow or weds,
whenever they have an opening, but can anybody offer any advice on what
they will do to her and what the possibility of her illness is if any,
or is it just old age.
