Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: False Positives on ADV test?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Thanks Sukie. The reason I originally asked is because I received
news of a Positive ELISA (blood) test over the weekend. We are going
to be testing much of the gang later this week. Also I am probably
gonna do a blood drawing on my own and send it to the Blue Cross as
well. We are also going to be doing an protein electrophoresis
because some of the ferrets have had suspicious symptoms, now that I
am reading more about the symptoms of ADV. For example Franklin has
had a lot of non-specific symptoms over the last 6 months- wasting,
muscle loss, lethargy, anemia, and some abnormalties on a kidney
ultrasound. However we are also waiting back on a U. Tenn panel for
him.
Also, the paralysis I am reading about, traveling from rear to front,
is this usually something acute that goes away or gradual and
non-reversible? Cause some of you might remember a couple weeks ago
Alvin's paws got very swollen and it traveled to his front paws, then
went away completely. He is the one coming back Positive but he is
the only one who has been tested recently.
