Subject: [ferrethealth] some new melamine contamination info
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Here is a very interesting FDA transcript on the imported thickeners,
shared with me by Bill Gruber.

and as expected the items have also been used in the foods of some
farmed fish as quoted from AP:

> Farmed fish fed contaminated material

> WASHINGTON - Farmed fish have been fed meal spiked with the same

> After pigs and chickens, the farmed fish mark the third food animal

but if that does not work then go to

and type in

melamine fish

in the search box and then click on Submit.

Remember that levels not considered a problem for humans have been a
problem for cats and dogs so could potentially also be a problem for
ferrets. See yesterday's post for the chemical reaction taking place
in urine which seems to be the cause of the acute problems as per
research done at the University of Guelph in Canada.
