I couldn't hurt to run the symptoms past a veterinary
toxicologist. I don't know is the SPCA has such
resources in Canada. (If they do then it should go
into the links at the FHL.

Here are the U.S. ones. I think the current charge is
$55 per CASE.

Looking in a poisoning book (human data and old) I have from
way back when we had to be careful what we let chimps near
(but it will NOT be comprehensive and i know next to nothing
about poisoning and just a little bit about plant taxonomy):

Notice that not everything which is poisonous for a human is
poisonous for a ferret and vice versa by cross refing with the
ASPCA's toxic plant list. I am going through a many, many
page table in the book.

Yew has strong CNS effects but it also has pronounced
digestive symptoms.
Ditto on both scores (and in some cases some more symptoms):
bleeding heart, betelnut, boxwood, burning bush/spindle tree,
daphne, elderberry, Indian Tobacco, some jasmines
(not tea jasmine), laurels, rayless goldenrod/snakeroot (or milk
from animals who ate snakeroot), parts of some plants in the
pea family )esp. sweetpea seeds), stonefish (Nope, not a
plant since I am on to a different table now), some caterpillars,
and that seems to be it in these tables.

Non-edible parts of cherry and parts of some related species in
Prunus like jetberry (containing cyanide) can cause CNS
symptoms without digestive ones.

It IS a time of year when many bring in flowering tree branches
to lend scent and beauty to homes.

BUT NONE OF THESE APPEAR TO CAUSE AGGRESSION OR FEAR!

Laburnum can cause delirium but also other symptoms beyond CNS.

NUTMEG in extreme amounts can cause delirium and convulsions. Is
there a chance that the ferret got a stash of this spice? I do NOT know
if it does the same damage to ferrets.

The text is too old to be reliable for household products such as
cleansers.

I have a very vague recollection of what I think was some sort of
supplement that was being abused for hallucinogenic effects but
can't find anything so it is probably me confusing two or more things
read in the past.
