I'm so sorry for what you and your ferret are going through.
My ferret Peepa had a bad seizure due to insulinoma. Over the next 3 days, she continued to have episodes in which she'd go rigid or flail, screech, salivate, and snap her teeth, even while her blood glucose was in the normal range. The episodes gradually decreased in frequency until they stopped. I'm not suggesting that your ferret has insulinoma, just that a bad seizure can be followed by further episodes that could lessen as the brain recovers.
Is it possible that your ferret swiped something poisonous out of a grocery bag, coat pocket, or handbag? One of my ferrets, Baby, kissed me with garlic breath and I found she'd made off with a whole head while I was unpacking groceries. Luckily, I found it before she'd done much more than lick it.
Your ferret seems a bit young, but have you considered the possibility of a pancreatic tumor that's causing the blood glucose to spike and drop erratically?
I may have missed a post on this thread, but has anyone mentioned whether ferrets can have epilepsy or other seizure disorders?
Good luck, and we'll be thinking of you.
Tracy
