Use ferret psychology.

You know how they like stashes and secrets? Put kibble into some hidden places like paper
bags BUT DO NOT LET THE FERRETS SEE YOU DO IT AND DO NOT LET THEM SEE YOU
WATCHING. If you are careful enough that they think that they are pulling a fast one on you,
and if you remain careful to let them have their "secret" for long enough (usually a half week
to 2 weeks) they will switch over on their own.

In 26 years with ferrets this is the single best and safest technique we have used, and done
right is works consistently. The usual mistake people make is to not be careful about NOT
being observed. That mistake negates the entire technique.
