This is not always the case so please use caution when using this
method. Some ferrets will not eat their kibble after being fed soup
for a time, and can get sick and malnourished from this method. What
works for one ferret may or may not work for another.

Think of it this way. When we feed soup to a sick ferret, essentially
we are re-teaching them how and what to eat. So when we want to take
them off the soup it makes sense that we will need to re-teach them to
eat kibble. Soup has many benefits. It's easier to eat, it's warm and
tasty, smellys yummy, and it can provide extra needed nutrients
(depending on what is in the recipe). Kibble on the other hand is
harder to chew, is room temperature, and has less taste and aroma.

I feed recipe twice daily, all they can eat before I go to work and all
they can eat after work until I go to bed, and have in the past had
ferrets that only ate the recipe. These were older or sick ferrets and
because they only ate recipe I gave them their servings 3-4 times a day
and they always had access to their kibble as well. Some willingly eat
both. I prefer to feed recipe every day so that I know everyone is
eating well and getting good nutrition.

One technique that might be helpful is to soak kibble in recipe before
serving. I let the kibble get soft so it is easier to chew. And
sometimes I'll feed one piece at a time and several will nudge in to
take that one special piece to eat. Dunkin kibble I call it.

I've also added warm water over kibble to raise the aroma. Simple
kibble turns into a gourmet treat this way.
