Subject: [ferrethealth] white poo and cetera followup

Would you advise cefadroxil in a case like this?
Does this sound like borderline kidney failure?
Any other ideas?
The vet said there's nothing wrong with Buddy's liver. He felt, then xrayed a largish (like
from the tip of my little finger to the first joint mass on his intestines. And a herniated disc
down near his lower legs that's causing his trouble walking. And the vet says Buddy is at
the borderline for kidney failure because of high creatinine and tp levels. I'm looking at the
reading now and it's 0.7 mg for the creatinine, which looks smack dab in the normal range
to me (listed as .4 to .9). TP is 6.6, which also looks normal according to the sheet I got
(5.2-7.3) The only thing that looks close to borderline to me is BUN, at 15 mg. Are the
ranges listed on this handout normal for some other animal, or something?
He gave me metacam for Buddy's leg pain after I told him Buddy can't take much pred.
And cefadroxil "just in case" it helps with whatever's causing the white poo. It's listed for
ferrets at Ferretuniverse, but does it sound like the kind of thing that would be right for
this? The vet isn't a ferret vet at all, but he did diagnose the herniated disc in twenty
seconds, and ferret vets who have seen his walk have looked only for insulinoma.
