Subject: [ferrethealth] Daredevil Ferret

Hi I have never posted on here but read everyday. I have four
ferrets and let them out everyday from their cage to play and when
they are out I clean their cage.
One night after I cleaned the cages and put the kids to bed I went
to bed at 2 am well Phoebe ( daredevil ) her cage has a little door
on the side at the top. I did not think anything of it and thought
I had closed it. At 9 am the next morning I heard what I thought
was some papers moving by my bed. Now I live by myself and nobdy was
here so I was thinking a ghost or some intruder. So I woke up but
did not see anything, so I went back to sleep about a half hour
later I rolled over and sense something next to me on my bed by the
pillows. I partially opened my eyes and saw something furry and
closed my eyes again. But I quickly realized that I was sleeping
next to Phoebe. She had crawled into my bed to sleep. I quickly
scooped her up and checked her to make sure she was ok and talked to
her. I put her back in her cage to made sure that it was locked
up. I always have food and water out in the kitchen so I knew that
she had not been with out food or water but she must of waited to
escape her cage til after I was sound asleep. Now I will explain
why she is my Daredevil. Phoebe will climb up the side of her cage
instead of using ramps and if there is an opportunity to climb
outside of her cage she will but to the top and look down as though
she is contimplating jummping. Nothing scares this little girl.
When I take her with me to the store or out on an outing she is
always wanting to meet people and it is hard to hold her back. Back
last year I took my mother to Wild Oats food store and so I figured
since I also had to stop at the pet store I would take Phoebe
along. While at Wild Oats one of the employees was walking around
with us and showing Phoebe all kinds of attention and wanting to
give her samples of different foods. Well some it I would not allow
and I got a temper tamtrum from Phoebe. But the young lady ended up
giving her a piece of pretzel. Phoebe was in heaven and wanted
more. But I am off topic This little girl loves people but not
others of her own kind. When I had gotten my other three she went
into a temper tantrum that would not stop. Not to mention the others
picked on her and she pooped herself. So I let her out by herself
and I play with her. Even with her being the Daredevil that she is,
this is the same little girl that can tell when you don't feel well
and will climb up on the couch and lay beside you and will lay there
giving you kisses to make you feel better.
