Thanks to everyone, especially Sukie for your information ferreting skills.

Well, his sugar has been consistently good in periodic (but not regular) testing. I wonder
whether maybe that isn't always an indicator of pancreatitis(?)

As far as bone ingestion, he does have some in his soup (in the normal--flesh to bone
ratio of a commercially-bred, overcooked chicken) but it never made his poop white
before. And it's gooey, not dried out looking or even formed. (Photos in his folder in the
album.) And most of the others pig out on soup, too, and they don't seem to have this
problem. So I really doubt that it's bone.

The bilurubin issue bothers me--I'll scour the links to find a way to treat it.

The mass can't be an enlarged spleen because his spleen was removed back in August. I'll
have to check a ferret anatomy chart, but if it wasn't a tumor it almost looked more like a
kidney to me. About the size of the tip of my little finger and slightly curved like that.

I have some iron drops--I'll start him on that. Any opinions on the cefa-drops (.25 ml 2x
daily @ 50mg/ml)? Or on mixing pred and metacam? Anybody?

Thanks again,

Clover
