Subject: [ferrethealth] weaning off of baby food
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

One thing I've tried when my ferrets are healthy enough to start
switching back to kibble but won't take it:
I will mix the ferret food with warm water to form sort of a gravy,
then just before I offer it, I put a few drops of ferretone on top of
the water. They want the ferretone so badly that they end up drinking
some of the kibble-flavored water also, which helps them get used to
the taste again.

Another thing I've tried is to put a small drop of ferretone on a
piece of kibble and offering that as a treat. The ferrets are so
intent on getting the ferretone out of the kibble, that they eat the
kibble, too!

Good luck,

Becky
