To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi MD, I'm not a medical professional of any kind but I do have a fert that was diagnosed with cardio a few months ago. He has an enlarged heart and fliud in the lungs and was coughing really badly. He was put on furosemide and Enalapril for several months. He was taken off the furosemide about a month ago but kept on the Enalapril. My Vet said he could have 2 months or 2 years but there were no guarantees. He is not coughing any more but vet said he may have to go back on the furosemide at some future date. He is 6 yrs old and is back to being a playful and happy ferret. It is my understanding though that cardio is not curable.
