That sounds like just seasonal shedding. When our ferrets blow their coats, it's like a fur explosion over here. Obviously, I would keep an eye on it, but ours are starting to lose some of their winter weight, which means they're going to be shedding soon, so it's not too early. If she starts to lose her undercoat, or if the hair loss continues at that level for more than a week or two, I would get it checked out.
