http://ferrethealth.org/archive/YPG918

mentions Epakitin

http://ferrethealth.org/archive/SG14864

explains how fish oils help

http://ferrethealth.org/archive/SG15527

on avoiding meds that contain aluminum when kidney
disease is present

http://ferrethealth.org/archive/SG15335

goes into adding potassium citrate and fish oils
and reducing protein or at least the phosphorous and which
special diets may help

http://ferrethealth.org/archive/SG8097

and

on reduced protein

There are more in the archives.

Also: When Hilbert had bilateral hydronephrosis
a lot of extra fluid each day was also essential.
(Hilbert had a bladder diverticulum and cystine stones
sohe blocked. We also have a female ferret, Morney,
who has gotten cystine stones but both have been fine
for years as long as we keep their protein intake to no
more than 35%. This differs from sex linked (male)
cystine stones in dogs, and is a somewhat rare problem
in ferrets though I have been told of others. Anyway, their
problem was different from the one you are dealing with so...)
