Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: difficulty urinating
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I do thank everyone for all of your input, advice and reminders
about the dangers of waiting.
The reason I decided not to take him to the vet yesterday was because
I decided to go home and see if maybe he was constipated and also if
I was just overacting to maybe a one day incident. Since losing Komay
last month I am very panicky with all of my animals.
Please don't think I wouldn't have normally taken my ferret to
the vet. I would rather be safe than sorry. Trust me if I thought he
was in any kind of discomfort or if things didn't seem right I would
take him to the vet immediately.
In addition, I'm also trying to explore other options because I
don't want to start treating him for something he may not have. I do
agree that it most likely is adrenal but, again, I want to be sure.
I am going to take him to the vet today and see what she thinks.
I am also going to tell her that I would like for him to have an
injection of Lupron. Just in case she doesn't have Lupron, would
melatonin work?
I've never had to treat adrenal disease medically so I do not
know what to expect or what to treat him with.

Thank you,

Sheryl
