Sheryl; Sounds like you are doing the besst you can; all I can do is relate what Bucky Two's experience was.
Ended up he had an infection of the Prostate, causing a swelling of the gland; which in turn was squeezing down the urinary tube. If left unattended it would have closed off the bladder and cause the kidneys to quit functioning after a time. A catheter to drain the urine and medication for the infection brought about a cure. the medication must have tasted terrible and being alone I could never squirt it down his throat. But putting it into a teaspoon and placing a small amount of Whipped Toping on it, he licked the spoon dry. He's been going strong these past three years.
