Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Superworms

Apparently, superworms are larval meal"worm"
(a beetle larva of Zoophobas mario). I have
not heard the "superworm" term before, but
in past years have fed these to fish, birds,
amphibians, reptiles, lorises, etc.

My *guess* is that they would be a safe treat,
and that the ectoskeleton , being so segmented in
small pieces on the larvae would be likely to pass
easily but I don't know for sure. Insects and
arachnids are a normal part of wild polecat diets,
BTW.
