Actually, I believe, as with reptiles eating "meal"-type worms, if the worms aren't killed first (by crushing their heads), there is a chance for stomach-lining injury by the still-"alive" mouthparts. Also, can't foods of this type carry transmittable parasites?

in past years have fed these to fish, birds,
amphibians, reptiles, lorises, etc.
My *guess* is that they would be a safe treat,
and that the ectoskeleton , being so segmented in
small pieces on the larvae would be likely to pass
easily but I don't know for sure. Insects and
arachnids are a normal part of wild polecat diets,
BTW.
