Subject: [ferrethealth] Incomplete spay & reaction to vaccine
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hey everybody,
I posted a week or two ago about my girl who had a swollen vulva.
The vet gave her antibiotics hoping for vaginitis. Her vulva hasn't
gone down so he thinks it is an incomplete spay. He said he did
surgery on a little girl last week with the same thing. He thinks we
should wait for about a month to see if it goes down, and if not then
have surgery. Any thoughts? Has anybody's baby ever had that surgery?
Also today my other ferret had his distemper vaccine. He got
benadryl along with it and seemed fine. We got about half way home and
he started throwing up and shaking his head. Has this ever happened to
anyone? We took him back to the vet and they are going to watch him
for the rest of the day. They also gave him some epinephrine. Also he
was making a really wierd noise on the way to the vet, kindof like a
really long whine....it was so SCARY! Anybody have any advice?
Thanks so much!
