I've never experienced this in a young ferret, but I do know that's how Bucky was acting at the loss of his mate, Buckette... at least until I brought Buckle home for him.
Two important questions; Is 'Key Largo' alone, and if so; how long have you had him? It just might be depression caused by being taken away from his running mates prior to.
